Wedding day transportation

Transportation to the wedding venue will be coordinated via shuttle buses on the day of the wedding.  No private cars will be allowed at the venue, so please do not try to drive to the winery, you will be turned away.

We will post a more detailed shuttle schedule closer to the wedding date, but we will have shuttle pick-up points in Central Healdsburg (at the H2/Hotel Healdsburg) and also from the Best Western in Healdsburg around 230pm.

For those of you driving from San Francisco and the Bay Area the day of, please drive to the shuttle pick up point in Central Healdsburg and we will take care of everything else from there.

Childcare

For those of you traveling with children, you are more than welcome to bring them to the wedding.  We will have a small children’s table, and there will be a cottage on the grounds where they will be able to play, watch DVDs and tuck-in early.  We will have French-speaking childcare on the premises.

For those of you who’d like to hire a babysitter to watch your children in your hotel rooms (or rented homes) while you’re at the wedding (c. 2pm – 11pm Saturday 28 July), please let us know and we can also arrange for a babysitter to watch your youngsters for the duration of the wedding, so that you can enjoy the wedding child-free and spend some quality time with your loved one and us.

Please just let us know either way if you will be traveling with your children and which you prefer, and we’ll make arrangements accordingly.

Restaurants and more wineries added

I have finally added in detail on restaurants for the area surrounding Healdsburg, and also a section on wineries and restaurants in Napa.  For those of you looking for a day trip in wine country, that should give you more than enough options.

For Napa, Christophe and I love to start the day with breakfast at Bouchon Bakery, then rent some bikes and go cruising through the vineyards, tasting and visiting, with a picnic lunch along the way.  Finish off with a lovely dinner in Yountville, and you’re golden.

Hotels update

We’ve updated the availability of the hotels in Healdsburg on the ‘Accommodations’ page.  There are a handful of rooms left at the h2hotel – mostly suites and studios, which are great for couples traveling with small children, or singles who don’t mind sharing a room.

We have also added more rooms to the Best Western room block, so there is more availability.  Feel free to let either of us know if you have any questions!

Wedding attire + weather

Weather in July should be quite warm, with the average high on July 28th being 80F / 27 C.  However, the evening tends to cool down a bit to a low of 52F / 11C, so please bring a shawl or plan accordingly.

Also, women are welcome to dress as they would in typical European wedding fashion: hats, fascinators and all.  However, since there is no break between the ceremony and the reception (as there usually is between church and the reception in Europe), it may be more convenient to wear a hat / fascinator that you can remove if you get hot or tired as the evening wears on.  Of course, your attire is completely up to you!

Tournée touristique en Californie – semaine du 16 juillet

Salut les amis!

Pour ceux qui veulent visiter la Californie du nord, je compte organiser une visite touristique la semaine avant le mariage.  En fonction du nombre de participants, on partira tous en voiture ou en bus!  Au programme: Yosemite National Park, Lake Tahoe, San Francisco etc.  Viendez nombreux!  Tout le monde est bienvenu, pour un jour ou une semaine, pour nous rejoindre en cours de route, ou juste prendre un apéro un soir.  Nous sommes déjà trois.  Les inscriptions sont ouvertes…
